When the custom transaction numbers feature is turned off, new invoice numbers will automatically follow a sequence that starts with the last transaction number entered.

Example:

  • If custom transaction numbers are turned on and you manually enter an invoice number as 538, then turn off the custom transaction numbers feature, the next automated number generated will be 539.

Step 2: Recognize the Issue with Custom Transaction Numbers in Salesforce

When custom transaction numbers are enabled in QuickBooks, Salesforce does not automatically recognize the last transaction number used. As a result, when generating an invoice in Salesforce with custom transaction numbers turned on, the invoice number will not be pre-filled and will default to being empty.
