Configure Opportunity to Fetch Opportunity Products into Your Invoice

In some cases, subscribers may encounter an issue where clicking the "Fetch Products" button in the opportunity line items section on invoices, estimates, or sales receipts doesn't retrieve the expected products. The issue arises because, by default, the Subtotal field on opportunity products is not visible to administrators. As a result, when the administrator tries to fetch the products, the automation breaks due to insufficient permissions.

To resolve this, the administrator must be granted access to both the Subtotal field and the Total Price field on opportunity products. The following steps will guide you on how to configure these permissions and allow the opportunity products to be fetched correctly into your invoices.





1. Navigate to your Salesforce Instance

2. Click the gear icon.

3. Click "Setup"

4. Click "Object Manager"

5. Click "Opportunity Product"

7. Click "Fields & Relationships"

8. Click "Subtotal"

9. Click "Set Field-Level Security"

10. Check All As "Visible" Or just for the Administrator.

11. Click "Save".

12. Click "Back to Opportunity Product Fields"

13. Click "Total Price"

14. Click "Set Field-Level Security"

15. Check All As "Visible" Or just for the Administrator.

16. Click "Save".

17. Head to your invoice, make sure your opportunity has products and click "Fetch Products from Opportunity Line Items"

18. Your Products should show up now.
